Earlier, Kejriwal announced that Saurabh Bharadwaj, the Delhi unit president of AAP, will be arriving in Punjab with essential relief supplies. In addition, every day, AAP leaders, MLAs, MPs, and citizens from Delhi will send trucks carrying relief materials to Punjab. Residential Welfare Associations (RWAs) and traders are also offering support in various ways to assist those impacted by the floods.

Kejriwal expressed gratitude for the widespread help, stating that people from all over the country are contributing to the relief efforts. “Today, the entire nation stands with Punjab,” he said.

Furthermore, AAP MLAs and MPs are donating one month’s salary to the Punjab Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to aid the flood victims.

The ongoing floods in Punjab have been caused by the rising waters of the Sutlej, Beas, and Ravi rivers, as well as seasonal rivulets, following heavy rains in their catchment areas in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.

On Sunday, Gurveer Singh Brar, MLA from Sadulshahar, Rajasthan, confirmed that relief trucks carrying ration and fodder from Chak Mahraj Ka village were sent to Fazilka district, one of the worst-hit regions. He added that more farmers from Sriganganagar and Hanumangarh districts have pledged support.

Manjit Singh, a farmer from Sriganganagar, said the calamity has devastated Punjab’s farmers, and it is their responsibility to ensure no family or livestock goes hungry. The first consignment carried essential food items and fodder, while more supplies are being arranged.

In Haryana, farmers from Ladwa village in Hisar district dispatched tractor-trailers filled with relief goods. They said unity among farmers has always been their strength, and this disaster calls for collective action.

With crops destroyed, villages inundated, and families displaced, Punjab faces severe challenges. However, the aid coming from Rajasthan and Haryana provides a ray of hope. Farmers believe that helping each other in tough times keeps their community strong and resilient across state borders.
