The cabinet resolved points that previously slowed progress. As a result, the state can now participate fully in structured talks with the Centre and ENPO representatives. Officials said this approach will bring governance closer to residents while staying within constitutional guidelines.

Once established, the authority will manage planning, resource allocation, and administrative decisions for the eastern districts. Leaders added that this initiative will help meet local needs efficiently and support targeted development programs.

The FNTA discussions are part of ongoing dialogue between the Nagaland government, the Union government, and ENPO. Earlier, the state had submitted feedback on draft proposals, and all parties worked to align their positions. Stakeholders in eastern Nagaland welcomed the cabinet’s decision, noting that it removes procedural obstacles and adds momentum to the talks.

Officials and community representatives said they are optimistic the negotiations will soon result in a framework that strengthens administration and development in Frontier Nagaland.
