Jarmal Singh was the sitting sarpanch of Valtoha village in Tarn Taran district.
He had arrived at the resort to attend a family wedding function.
Police say the attackers mixed with the wedding procession to avoid suspicion.

Two unidentified men opened fire while Singh was eating food inside the venue.
The bullets hit his head, leaving him critically injured.
Doctors rushed him to hospital, but he died during treatment.

CCTV cameras outside the marriage palace captured images of the suspects.
Police released the visuals but have not confirmed their identities yet.
Investigators believe the attackers followed Singh before executing the plan.

AAP MLA Sarwan Singh confirmed the shooters posed as wedding guests.
He said the attack happened suddenly, creating panic at the venue.

The victim’s family revealed they had received extortion threats earlier.
They claimed gangsters demanded money and issued repeated warnings.
Singh had already filed a complaint at Valtoha police station.

Police suspect the murder links to extortion rather than personal rivalry.
Senior officers said Singh survived three previous attacks.
Authorities have assured strict action once the accused are identified.

In recent weeks, several businessmen have received death threats demanding crores of rupees.
A Jaipur trader received a demand for ₹5 crore through calls and voice notes.
In Bikaner, women linked to an RPS officer’s family reported intimidation to withdraw a case.

Officials say Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang has reduced activity in Rajasthan.
The arrest of Anmol Bishnoi and stricter jail monitoring weakened Lawrence’s control.
Threat calls using Lawrence’s name have also declined.

Earlier, Rohit Godara allegedly ran extortion operations on Lawrence’s instructions.
He managed the Rajasthan network and handled high-value targets.
Sources now confirm their alliance has collapsed.
Godara reportedly wants to establish himself as the state’s most powerful gangster.

Godara’s name surfaced in the murders of Raju Theth and Karni Sena leader Sukhdev Gogamedi.
Investigators believe those killings removed major rivals.

Threats now arrive through internet-based calls from foreign numbers.
On December 2, 2026, a mining businessman in Jaipur received a ₹5 crore demand.
Similar cases surfaced in Chittorgarh, Sikar, and Sri Ganganagar.

Police say some local criminals misused Godara’s name.
Authorities have arrested several such suspects.
A lookout notice remains active against Rohit Godara.
Police are tracking local informers supplying information abroad.
