DGP Gaurav Yadav met the Election Commission for nearly an hour. Officials questioned him on allegations of police interference during the by-election. Opposition leaders claimed that some security personnel influenced the voting process and created pressure at certain polling locations.

Sources said the Election Commission wants clarity on the role of district-level officers. The panel also asked for detailed reports from the Tarn Taran administration to evaluate the sequence of events on polling day.

Yadav left the Commission office without giving any public reaction. His silence added more attention to the controversy, although officials say the Commission will continue its review before taking any decision.

Political parties in Punjab closely follow the investigation. They want a transparent process that ensures confidence in the upcoming phases of the election cycle. The Commission plans more internal meetings to determine whether further action is necessary.

The issue has turned into a major political flashpoint, and leaders expect the Election Commission to release its findings soon.
