US authorities moving to end fraud cases against Gautam Adani could bring major relief to the Indian billionaire and his business empire. Reports say American investigators are considering closing criminal fraud cases linked to allegations of bribery and investor misrepresentation related to a large solar power project in India.

The investigation began in 2024 after officials claimed that company representatives offered large payments to secure project approvals and attract international investment. Gautam Adani and his companies strongly denied the allegations and said they followed all legal and business standards.

If US authorities move ahead with the decision, the step may remove a major legal hurdle for the Adani Group. Experts say US authorities moving to end fraud cases against Gautam Adani could also restore confidence among global investors and strengthen the company’s position in international markets.

The two-day Telangana Rising Global Summit at Future City in Maheshwaram was organised by the state government with grand success. The event was planned to support Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s aim of building a three-trillion-dollar economy by 2047. Massive investor participation was seen, and agreements with global companies indicated fresh economic momentum.

Record investments of ₹5.75 lakh crore were confirmed during the summit. Delegates from many countries and leading industries visited Hyderabad and joined hands with the government. Unlike routine visits to Davos, international companies were invited directly to Telangana, and a strong response was received. This approach strengthened confidence in the Rising-2047 vision.

The summit was conducted in a pleasant setting with coordinated work by ministers and officials. Guests were honoured with Pochampally Ikat shawls, Hyderabadi perfumes, pearl jewellery, and Cheriyal paintings. Telangana sweets and Hyderabadi biryani were served, and visitors expressed high appreciation.

Cultural programs such as Perini dance, Kommu Koya performance, Veena recital, Gussadi show, and an MM Keeravani concert were staged. A large drone show was arranged to present the Vision-2047 themes, and it impressed all visitors. Selected school children were allowed to tour the summit between 2 PM and 7 PM.

Speaking at the Kotak International India Insight Summit in New York, Kotak Mahindra AMC Managing Director Nilesh Shah said India’s GDP could cross $4 trillion by 2025.

Shah credited strong domestic consumption, a vibrant services sector, and expanding manufacturing for the country’s progress. He noted that even with a per capita income of just $2,940, India contributes nearly 10% to global growth and 18% on a purchasing power parity basis. “India is the engine of the global growth train,” he said, highlighting the nation’s growing influence.

India’s equity markets have grown 13.7% annually since 2020, outpacing most emerging markets. Shah also praised the government’s fiscal discipline. He pointed out that India reduced its debt-to-GDP ratio even after the pandemic — a rare feat among major economies.

He added that India’s open economy and easy access for global investors strengthen its global standing. With tech giants like Meta, Google, and Amazon operating freely, India is emerging as an innovation-driven leader powering the next phase of world growth.

Foreign investors are rapidly increasing their presence in India’s financial sector, driven by the country’s success in converting millions of unbanked citizens into a data-rich market. A report by Sunday Independent urged African nations to follow a similar model for inclusive digital growth.

India’s digitally-driven transformation has attracted major players like Citigroup, Barclays, and MUFG, despite challenges such as trade headwinds and account dormancy. With 89% adult account penetration and 25% dormancy, investors are leveraging fintech innovations and data-based credit scoring to reach new consumers.

The shift from a cash-based economy to a digital ecosystem has unlocked economic potential across sectors. Every transaction now generates valuable data, helping lenders design microloans, insurance, and savings products for low-income users through platforms like Paytm and PhonePe using UPI technology.

The report highlighted that India’s inclusive digitisation has reduced transaction costs and boosted financial usage, leading to over $50 billion in FDI inflows during 2024–25. The publication suggested Africa could replicate India’s success by investing in digital infrastructure and using innovation to reduce account inactivity.
