The party alleged that women and other members have faced severe physical and mental abuse in prisons. False cases have also been filed against many leaders at all levels.

The Awami League claimed that former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and other party activists are being unjustly detained. Some leaders have reportedly been killed through torture in prisons, while inhumane abuse continues. The party called these actions extreme and barbaric.

The party accused the interim government of using fabricated cases to harass Awami League members across the country. Prison transfers and humiliating treatment have been allegedly used to maximize suffering and intimidate activists. The statement called the practices shocking and unacceptable.

Awami League has urged international organisations and human rights defenders to demand transparent investigations into custodial deaths. Since the Yunus-led government came to power, at least 24 party members reportedly died in custody. The party stressed the need for accountability and justice for victims and their families.

Farmers across Andhra Pradesh continue to struggle with a shortage of urea, causing frustration and protests. With insufficient fertilizer, cultivation has slowed, and farmers wait desperately at IKP centers hoping to secure even a single bag.

Leaders from the ruling YSR Congress Party have also faced public anger, with protests erupting in several regions. The demand for proper urea supply reached the Krishna district Zilla Parishad (ZP) general body meeting this week. Several ZPTC members questioned officials about the ongoing scarcity.

However, when the NTR district agriculture officer claimed there was no shortage of urea, tensions escalated. Outraged ZPTCs accused officials of lying and surrounded the meeting stage. They demanded the officer withdraw her remarks. The situation worsened when police forces entered the meeting hall to control the protest.

ZPTC members objected strongly to the heavy police presence, questioning the district collector on why so many personnel had been deployed. The meeting ended in chaos, reflecting the growing unrest among farmers and local representatives. Critics say the government must act quickly to restore trust by ensuring timely fertilizer distribution.

Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has strongly criticized the state government, claiming that the economy is moving in reverse . Speaking to the media in Tadepalli, he questioned whether governance is being run for the welfare of the people or for the benefit of exploiters.

Jagan alleged that essential services such as education, healthcare, and agricultural benefits, which rightfully belong to the people, are instead being diverted to vested interests. He further accused the ruling administration of undermining democracy and failing to safeguard public interests.

Expressing serious concern over the prevailing law-and-order situation, Jagan asked whether the state truly has a functioning government at all. He asserted that the people are being denied basic rights while corruption and exploitation thrive. His sharp remarks are seen as part of his continued attack on the government’s policies and its inability to address citizens’ needs effectively.
