Around six lakh teachers across the state will benefit from the updated rules. Earlier, the draft policy proposed a five-year restriction on transfers after appointment. However, teacher associations raised objections. The government is now likely to reduce this period to three years, with special provisions for medical and compassionate grounds.

District and divisional committees will review applications and recommend eligible cases. The government expects the new system to reduce disputes and improve staff distribution in schools.
