]]> The Telangana government is taking steps to implement *42% reservation for Backward Classes (BCs) in local bodies, according to recent reports. Once implemented, this reservation is expected to benefit **13 Adavis, 237 MPPs, 2,421 MPTCs, and 5,359 other positions* across various local institutions. The government is reportedly *finalizing details, and more clarity will emerge once the official **Government Order (GO) is issued*.

Previously, in 2019, the *Backward Classes Reservation Scheme (BRS 100)* had already allocated positions in local bodies, including *202,345 ZPTC, 90 MPP, 95 MPs, 1,011 MPTC, and 6 ZP seats* for BCs. The current initiative reflects the state government’s commitment to *social equity and increased political representation for marginalized communities*.

Once formalized, these measures will *strengthen participation of BCs in governance, ensuring **inclusive decision-making at the grassroots level* in Telangana.
