Patel emphasized that Gujarat handles 49 per cent of total national cargo, which shows the strategic importance of the state’s coastline. With modern ports, digital systems, and better connectivity, Gujarat has established itself as the country’s leading maritime hub.

He noted that this achievement is not accidental. It is the result of consistent policies introduced during Modi’s tenure as Gujarat’s Chief Minister and later as India’s Prime Minister. Programmes such as Sagarmala and heavy investments in port infrastructure have accelerated this growth. Moreover, automation and technology upgrades have boosted efficiency.

According to Patel, Gujarat’s cargo growth also benefits people living in coastal areas. It creates large-scale employment, supports small businesses, and increases export potential. In addition, foreign investors trust Gujarat’s ports because of their efficiency and reliability.

Patel highlighted that Gujarat manages a diverse mix of cargo, including petroleum, textiles, chemicals, automobiles, and agricultural products. This diversity keeps trade flows stable and strengthens India’s overall economy. Furthermore, Gujarat’s performance adds credibility to India as a trusted global trade partner.

Concluding his remarks, Patel said that Gujarat’s achievements prove the strength of Modi’s maritime vision. He expressed confidence that Gujarat will remain India’s leader in cargo handling and continue to attract global shipping partnerships.
