TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud said the Telangana Rising Global Summit brought strong investment flows to the state. He added that the event showcased Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s clear vision for Telangana. While speaking at the CLP office, he criticised Harish Rao and asked how many investments the BRS government secured in ten years. He said the summit’s success unsettled the former finance minister.

Goud announced that corporation chairpersons and board positions would be filled before the end of the month. He also mentioned that new PCC working presidents and campaign committees would be appointed soon. When asked about contesting from Nizamabad, he replied that the decision belonged to the party high command. He said he felt satisfied with his current PCC responsibilities.

He urged Harish Rao to clearly state the government’s position on employees’ concerns. According to him, several sectors suffered damage under a decade of BRS rule. He stated that Kavitha’s criticism emerged due to financial discrepancies being exposed. Goud also demanded an inquiry into her remarks regarding alleged irregularities.

The TPCC chief said Telangana experienced faster development under the Congress government. National leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge congratulated the state for hosting the summit. He said the Metro Phase expansion and Musi beautification would move forward. Goud added that the summit created a new identity for Telangana on the global stage.

The political journey of Jagruthi president Kalvakuntla Kavitha has turned into a major discussion in Telangana. She distanced herself from her father’s party and began a people’s outreach programme. Her attacks on Harish Rao and Santosh Rao created early tension. Now, her remarks targeting individual BRS MLAs have become a hot topic in state politics.

During a recent event in the GHMC area, Kavitha criticised Kukatpally MLA Madhavaram Krishna Rao. She alleged that he focused more on land issues than on public welfare. Krishna Rao reacted strongly and accused Kavitha of several irregularities. He said he had seen many “like her” and warned that exposing her record would be damaging. He questioned her comments on corruption and challenged her to stop making personal remarks.

Kavitha’s statements have created intense friction inside the BRS. Leaders claim she is highlighting corruption that happened during the party’s decade-long rule. Her comments are giving political ammunition to opponents. Krishna Rao’s sharp counter has opened a new round of debate on the BRS–Kavitha rivalry.

Many leaders believe Kavitha’s aggressive stand may harm her more than help. Senior leaders have not joined her Jagruthi campaign. Questions remain about her political future, especially with ongoing allegations like the liquor case.

Minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy launched a sharp attack on BRS leaders during his media interaction. He claimed that Harish Rao and KTR do not even speak to each other. Reporters should avoid bringing their names into his briefing, he said, as it spoils a productive discussion. He also criticised the BRS for failing to win a single Parliament seat after ten years in power.

He added that answering questions about such a party holds no value for the government. The Minister stated that he prefers focusing on development rather than wasting time on political disputes. He urged the media to highlight issues that matter to the people. His remarks created strong political buzz ahead of the Global Summit.

Komatireddy explained that the government is hosting the summit to shape Telangana’s long-term future. He said the state is attracting massive investments worth several lakh crores. The Minister noted that the event demonstrates Telangana’s progress in industry and technology. He expressed confidence that the summit will generate major economic opportunities.

He said the administration will not get distracted by opposition criticism. Officials, he mentioned, are working to strengthen Telangana’s growth model. He stressed that development stands at the centre of the government’s agenda. The Minister concluded that the summit marks a key step in the state’s growth path.

Former minister Harish Rao criticized the Telangana government for failing to fulfill promises made to homeguards. Speaking on Homeguards’ Rising Day, he said the Congress government promised several benefits before elections, but none were implemented after coming to power. Harish Rao accused CM Revanth Reddy of humiliating homeguards through improper actions, leaving them in distress across the state.

Rao highlighted that the government announced a compensation of ₹5 lakh for families of homeguards who die naturally, according to G.O. No.2 issued in January 2025. However, even after ten months, no homeguard family has received the promised amount. Health cards were also promised, but delays in treatment have caused fatalities among homeguards.

Uniform allowances for the past four years have not been provided to homeguards outside Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda regions. Promises made by Revanth Reddy to support families and provide compassionate appointments were ignored. Homeguards struggle to pay school fees and house rent due to irregular salaries.

In the past two years, over 60 homeguards have died. Apart from road accident cases, natural death compensations were not given. Retirement benefits, orderly systems, and other allowances remain unfulfilled. Harish Rao demanded immediate action by the Telangana government to resolve homeguard issues.

Former minister Harish Rao praised K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) for uniting various groups and making the impossible possible, leading to the formation of Telangana.

On the occasion of ‘Deeksha Divas’, Rao highlighted the 2009 November 29 hunger strike that transformed the Telangana movement. He said the protest created a new chapter in history and laid the foundation for the state.

Rao emphasized that KCR’s leadership inspired four crore people to fight tirelessly for Telangana. He added that the movement demanded courage, sacrifices, and dedication beyond holding official positions. Rao described KCR as the unwavering signature on Telangana’s enduring history.

He further stated that without KCR’s protest starting November 29, the December 9 announcement creating Telangana would not have occurred. The decade-long struggle, not the rulers’ generosity, achieved the statehood. Rao said the memories of KCR’s dedication continue to inspire Telangana’s spirit among people.

Former MP and Jagruthi President K. Kavitha toured Medak district as part of the Jana Bata programme. She interacted with villagers and clearly stated that she will continue working for public welfare even though BRS removed her from the party. Moreover, she expressed deep concern that Medak, once promoted as a “Next New York” model, now reflects severe neglect and poor development.

Kavitha alleged that small farmers lost land for RRR, Kaleshwaram and railway projects, and she claimed that a few BRS leaders changed alignments for personal gain. Additionally, she criticised Harish Rao and K. T. Rama Rao for misguiding KCR and weakening the party. She also pointed out that the Jubilee Hills bypoll result shows how BRS failed as an active opposition.

Furthermore, she highlighted major issues such as drinking water scarcity, halted development works, tribal welfare gaps, women’s safety concerns and pending justice for land oustees. She demanded immediate action from the Congress government and insisted they must fulfil all earlier promises.

In conclusion, Kavitha stated that Medak still lacks a university, proper compensation for farmers, stable health support and strong educational facilities. She warned that a new political force may grow if BRS continues to miss its role. She also assured that Jagruthi will stand for equality, opportunity and public dignity.

Former Telangana Minister T. Harish Rao launched a sharp attack on the Congress government, questioning police actions before the Jubilee Hills by-election. Speaking at a community event in Erragadda, he asked why police bind over only rowdies if the Congress claims to act fairly.

Harish Rao said the Jubilee Hills election is a fight between a “Lady and a Rowdy,” referring to BRS candidate Sunitha and her rival. He asked why Naveen Yadav’s family members were bound over if they were not rowdies. He asserted that Sunitha represents not just herself but also KCR and the entire BRS party. According to him, a BRS victory would force the Congress to rethink its anti-people policies.

He accused the Congress of neglecting Hyderabad’s development. Harish Rao noted that the BRS government built 43 flyovers, while the Congress failed to lay even a small road in two years. He reminded people that Mission Bhagiratha inspired the central government’s Har Ghar Jal scheme, which still remains incomplete after eight years.

Continuing his criticism, Harish Rao alleged large-scale corruption under the Congress rule. He claimed that real estate collapsed because of high commissions demanded by the Chief Minister. He said the government is collecting 30% commissions for construction and land approvals, which is scaring investors and damaging Hyderabad’s growth.

The campaign for the Jubilee Hills by-election officially ends this evening at 6 p.m. The election follows the sudden demise of BRS MLA Maganti Gopinath. As the race enters its final hours, the BRS, Congress, and BJP are making their last push to win the high-profile seat. Polling will take place on Tuesday, November 11, and officials are now completing the final arrangements.

A total of 58 candidates are in the fray — three from major parties, 26 from registered ones, and 29 independents. The constituency has 4.01 lakh voters, and authorities have set up 407 polling stations. On average, each station will serve about 986 voters. Historically, voter turnout in Jubilee Hills has remained below 50 percent. Therefore, election authorities have launched awareness programs to encourage greater participation.

Among the 4,01,365 voters, there are 123 NRIs, 18 service voters, 1,908 persons with disabilities, 6,859 new voters, and 2,134 senior citizens above 85 years. For this election, officials plan to deploy 2,442 ballot units, 569 control units, and 610 VVPATs.

Vote counting will take place at Kotha Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy Stadium in Yousufguda, where preparations are in full swing. Meanwhile, top leaders from all three major parties have set up base in the area. Congress CM Revanth Reddy, BJP leaders Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay, and BRS leaders K.T.R. and Harish Rao have led intense campaigns. They have held corner meetings, made promises, and exchanged sharp criticisms, turning Jubilee Hills into the center of Telangana’s political heat.

A person can take oath as a minister if they are a citizen of the state. However, the Constitution requires them to get elected to either the Legislative Assembly or the Legislative Council within six months. Otherwise, they must resign from the post.

In the past 30 years, only three leaders have taken oath as ministers without being members of either house — Nandamuri Harikrishna from TDP, T. Harish Rao from TRS (now BRS), and, most recently, Mohammad Azharuddin from Congress.

Azharuddin took oath on Friday. He must win a seat in either house before the end of April or step down as minister. The State Cabinet has recommended his nomination to the Legislative Council under the Governor’s quota, but the Governor has not approved it yet.

Sources say the Governor is waiting for the Supreme Court’s verdict in a related case filed earlier by BRS leader Dasoju Sravan. Until the court gives its judgment, Azharuddin’s nomination will remain pending.

Earlier, both Harish Rao and Harikrishna faced similar challenges. However, only Harish Rao managed to win a bypoll and continue as minister.
