Rajasthan Tribal Area Disease rumours have created panic in the tribal belt of Bali subdivision in Rajasthan’s Pali district. Locals claim an unknown illness causes fever and headache for three to four days, followed by death. Unverified reports suggest nearly 90 deaths, raising serious concern among residents.

However, the state health department has strongly denied any outbreak. Health Department Director Ravi Sharma said doctors are conducting regular medical camps in the area. He clarified that no unusual disease pattern has appeared. Sharma added that he personally spoke to the Chief Medical and Health Officer, who also dismissed the claims. Officials believe fear and misinformation are spreading confusion.

Health experts point to deeper issues in the region. Poor transport facilities and low awareness make access to hospitals difficult. Many families live in remote hilly areas with kutcha houses and narrow paths. Ambulances often struggle to reach patients at night.

As a result, villagers depend on unqualified local practitioners. These quacks give injections and medicines without diagnosis. Such treatment often worsens the patient’s condition. In several cases, delayed medical care has reportedly led to deaths.

The health department has urged people to avoid untrained doctors. Authorities continue outreach camps to provide treatment and build trust among tribal communities.

Gwalior: The Gwalior Bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court has strongly criticised the administration for failing to curb the illegal use of Oxytocin, despite a 12-year-old court order banning its sale and misuse. The court has issued notices to the Principal Secretary of the Health Department and the Gwalior Collector, demanding an explanation on why the 2013 directive has not been implemented.

The case began when a petitioner highlighted the rampant misuse of Oxytocin, a hormone meant strictly for medical purposes. The petition claimed the injection was being used illegally to enhance the growth of poultry chicks, increase the size of vegetables, and was even available at grocery shops for commercial misuse—posing a serious threat to public health. The court noted that although a ban was ordered on 6 September 2013, authorities failed to enforce it, and even the contempt petition filed in 2013 saw no effective administrative response.

The High Court asked officials to clarify why no action was taken against those responsible for violating the ban and what steps are now being initiated. The bench observed that uncontrolled use of Oxytocin can harm both animals and humans, warning that strict legal action will follow if the administration continues to ignore the issue.
