The Collegium, headed by the Chief Justice of India, met recently to finalise these names. The decision comes as several high courts are facing vacancies due to retirements and transfers.

According to the recommendations, Patna, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Meghalaya, and Sikkim High Courts will get new Chief Justices. Senior judges from different high courts have been selected based on experience and seniority.

For Patna High Court, a senior judge from another state high court has been proposed. Jharkhand High Court is also set to get a new head from outside the state. Similar changes are planned for the remaining three high courts.

These recommendations will now be sent to the central government. After approval, official appointment notifications will be issued.

Legal experts believe these changes will improve court administration and speed up case hearings. The move is seen as crucial for maintaining stability and efficiency in the justice system.
