The auspicious Ghatasthapana Muhurat is from 6:14 a.m. to 7:56 a.m. (1 hour 42 minutes). For those unable to perform it in the morning, the Abhijit Muhurat from 11:53 a.m. to 12:42 p.m. is also favourable.

What is Kalash Sthapana?

Kalash Sthapana involves placing a sacred pot (Kalash) filled with water, betel nut, and coins. It is decorated with mango leaves, red cloth, rice, and topped with a coconut. The Kalash symbolises purity, prosperity, and divine power and is treated as a representation of Goddess Durga.

Kalash Sthapana Vidhi (Steps)

• Clean the puja area and sprinkle Gangajal.

• Place a wooden chowki, cover with red cloth.

• Fill the Kalash with water, betel nut, and coins.

• Arrange mango leaves and place a coconut wrapped in red cloth.

• Invoke Goddess Durga with prayers and mantras.

Once placed, the Kalash should not be moved. Devotees should light a diya every morning and evening, and keep the Kalash water clean.
