The man, identified as Roshan Kumar from Rohtas district, had developed a relationship with a girl from Sukharwa village in Kaimur while visiting his sister there. Over time, the two fell in love and continued meeting each other secretly.

On the night of Holi, Roshan went to meet his girlfriend in a field outside the village. The girl’s family members caught them together and reportedly beat both of them. The villagers later took the couple to the Mohania police station.

Police reached the location soon after receiving information and began an investigation. Officers collected evidence from the scene. They also seized a broken mobile phone and containers believed to contain toxic chemicals.

Local sources said the couple had been in a relationship for a long time. About six months ago, they reportedly ran away together, and the girl’s family filed a complaint against the man.

Police sent both bodies for post-mortem examination. Officials said the exact cause of death will become clear after the medical report.
