A threat email sent to the Telangana Chief Minister’s Office and Raj Bhavan created tension in Hyderabad on Monday. The message came from an ID under the name “Vasuki Khan.” It claimed that explosives were placed inside both the CMO and Raj Bhavan and warned of an imminent blast. The alert was taken seriously due to its direct reference to high-security offices.

Soon after the email was noticed, the Governor’s Chief Security Officer Srinivas reached the Panjagutta Police Station and filed a complaint. Police teams moved quickly and launched an investigation. They also alerted specialised security units to begin checks at both locations.

BDS teams, anti-sabotage squads, dog squads, and Task Force units conducted intensive inspections in both premises. They searched the buildings and surrounding areas for three hours. Police later confirmed that they found no explosives or suspicious objects during this operation.

Cybercrime teams have started tracking the email source. They are analysing the IP address, server location, and sender details. Security around the CMO and Raj Bhavan has been tightened after the threat. Police teams continue to monitor both locations to prevent any risk.

Corporate junior colleges in Telangana are facing serious allegations for violating Intermediate Board rules. Several private colleges, including Vedantu Junior College in Rangareddy district, are accused of running without proper permissions. Student unions say these colleges collect huge fees during admissions and finish the IPE syllabus in just two months.

Complaints have been lodged that these colleges focus only on JEE and NEET coaching throughout the year. Students allege that the academic syllabus receives attention only in the final months. Vedantu Junior College is being accused of running full-fledged coaching and academic classes without proper approval from the Board.

Another major allegation is about hostel violations. Students claim that the college is running co-educational hostels in the same premises, which is against Board norms. Parents express concern over student safety and privacy. Despite repeated complaints, officials have not taken action, student unions say.

Student organisations demand immediate on-site inspections at Vedantu and similar colleges. They are seeking strict action on unauthorised classes, hostel operations and syllabus violations. With large-scale complaints emerging from Rangareddy district, the response of the Intermediate Board is now being closely watched.

The Telangana government approved a major bill for gig workers’ welfare in Monday’s cabinet meeting. The bill aims to ensure minimum wages, job security, social protection, transparency, and insurance facilities. According to a NITI Aayog report, around three lakh gig platform workers are active in Telangana. Most of them work in logistics, delivery, transport, and household services, and they often face long working hours with no legal protection.

In December 2024, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy held a meeting with gig workers and promised to create a dedicated welfare mechanism. Since then, the government has consulted senior officials and the legal department, and it has prepared the draft of the Telangana Platform-Based Gig Workers Bill 2025. The cabinet has now approved the bill, and it has also launched the initial implementation process.

The government will set up a special welfare board with the Labour Minister as chairman. Moreover, the board will include representatives from platform companies, gig workers, civil society, and technology experts. It will operate from Hyderabad and will manage worker registration, welfare schemes, safe working conditions, and transparent payment systems. Workers can self-register, and platforms must submit their worker data within 60 days. Additionally, all aggregators must register within 45 days.

The bill also creates a welfare fund supported by aggregator fees, CSR donations, and government grants. Furthermore, a dispute resolution committee and an appellate system will address complaints. Platforms must give prior notice before removing a worker, and authorities will impose penalties for any violations.

The Supreme Court has taken a serious view regarding the petitions filed against BRS MLAs who shifted loyalty, creating suspense over the Speaker’s next move. The Court ordered a deadline, increasing political tension. The Speaker is expected to announce a decision within the given time, and discussions began on who may face action and who may receive relief.

Legal experts said the Speaker holds two choices. First, he may cancel all petitions and give a clean chit to all MLAs. The second option is to disqualify only those who allegedly have strong evidence of defection. Congress leadership reportedly prefers resignation from MLAs Danam Nagender and Kadiyam Srihari instead of direct disqualification, as it may appear more dignified. The other eight MLAs may likely receive a clean chit if the Speaker files an affidavit before the Court.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and the Speaker plan to consult senior Supreme Court lawyers soon for clarity. Meetings are expected immediately to decide the legal path. Experts said the decision cannot be delayed further, and the final order must be issued before the deadline.

A firm decision is expected soon, and political circles are eagerly watching this key development.

BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao met Maganti Sunitha and her family at their residence on Saturday morning. He appreciated her campaign efforts during the Jubilee Hills by-election. He said elections bring victories and defeats for every party. He also assured total party support for her family and praised her children for their strength and discipline.

While speaking to the media outside, he expressed strong concern over alleged attacks on BRS leaders and workers soon after the results. He accused Congress supporters of targeting party members and damaging symbols. He said BRS never resorted to such behaviour when it won several by-elections, corporation polls and district council polls in the past. He stated that politics needs dignity and restraint.

KTR also pointed out that Congress leaders celebrated the result in an insulting manner. He said political victories should not lead to personal attacks or humiliation. He confirmed that BRS workers will stay united and continue to fight for the public. He also added that democracy demands respect for every party and its cadre.

Finally, he warned Congress that any further attacks on BRS workers will receive a strong counter. He said protecting workers in Jubilee Hills is his direct responsibility. He described his statement as a serious and clear message to the ruling party.

The incident took place during the Jubilee Hills by-election polling held on Tuesday, November 11. Voting was conducted from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. without major disruptions until reports of a commotion surfaced.

According to police officials, Kaushik Reddy allegedly violated election rules by entering polling areas and creating disturbance near Yusufguda polling centers. He, along with his supporters, reportedly entered the Mahmood Function Hall, which was part of a polling zone, without authorization.

His actions allegedly triggered tension among voters and disrupted polling activities temporarily.

Following the incident, police booked Kaushik Reddy under sections related to trespassing and public nuisance.

Final preparations are underway for the Jubilee Hills by-election polling scheduled for tomorrow. Election staff collected EVMs and other polling materials from the Distribution, Reception, and Counting (DRC) Centre set up at Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy Stadium in Yousufguda. Officials are expected to reach their assigned polling stations with all materials by this evening.

The polling will begin at 7 a.m. on Thursday. District Election Officer R.V. Karnan personally inspected the EVM distribution process earlier today. He stated that strict security arrangements have been made to prevent any untoward incidents. Each candidate has been issued one polling agent pass for fair conduct of the election.

After polling, all EVMs will be brought back to the stadium for secure storage and counting. West Zone DCP Chintamneni Srinivas will oversee a three-tier security system with round-the-clock surveillance around the venue.

Meanwhile, major political parties are focusing on poll management from their respective war rooms. They are issuing continuous instructions to ground-level leaders to ensure favorable voter turnout. A total of 58 candidates will have their fate decided by Jubilee Hills voters tomorrow.

The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has fast-tracked the restoration of six major lakes in the city. These include Sunnam Cheruvu, Tammidikunta Cheruvu, Kukatpally Nalla Cheruvu, Uppal Nalla Cheruvu, Bum-Rukh-Ud-Daula Lake, and Bathukamma Kunta. The total project cost is ₹58.5 crore. Bathukamma Kunta is already complete and was inaugurated by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. The remaining lakes are expected to be ready by December.

HYDRAA teams faced several challenges during the works. Bathukamma Kunta’s progress stopped briefly due to a court case. At Bum-Rukh-Ud-Daula Lake, locals claimed ownership of land inside the lake boundary. Commissioner A.V. Ranganath assured that eligible residents would receive Transferable Development Rights (TDR).

Demolition drives at Kukatpally Nalla Cheruvu and Tammidikunta Kunta met initial resistance from encroachers. However, locals now welcome the progress of beautification and cleanup works.

HYDRAA partnered with Vimos Technocrats to prepare Detailed Project Reports and design plans. After completing the current phase, HYDRAA will collaborate with GHMC, HMDA, and the Irrigation Department for the next round of lake restoration projects.
