Ramakrishna Rao after completing the commission’s comprehensive education reform report.

Aakunuri Murali said the commission had finished the task assigned by the Telangana government. He thanked the government for giving him the opportunity to lead the panel and requested approval of his resignation. Reports said he still had a few months left in his tenure.

The Telangana Education Commission was formed in 2024 to improve education standards across the state. The panel recently submitted recommendations on reforms in public and private education. Some of the suggestions, especially on staff salary rationalisation, triggered criticism from teacher unions.

The resignation of Aakunuri Murali has now sparked discussion in Telangana’s education sector about the future of the commission and its recommendations.

Sanjeev Hans suspension revoked by the Bihar government has brought fresh attention to the senior IAS officer’s case. The General Administration Department issued orders on Monday, officially ending his suspension. Preparations for his new posting are now underway, officials said.

Sanjeev Hans suspension revoked comes weeks after he joined the General Administration Department in October. He was allowed to rejoin after the Patna High Court granted him conditional bail. The court imposed restrictions, including a travel ban outside India and mandatory presence during trial hearings.

According to his lawyer, Dr. Farukh Khan, the High Court found major gaps in the prosecution’s case. The court noted that no solid evidence showed money laundering, financial transactions, or use of alleged illegal funds. Because of these shortcomings, continued custody was seen as unjustified.

Hans had spent nearly a year in jail after his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in October 2024. He faced charges related to money laundering and disproportionate assets linked to smart meter and other government tenders. He was lodged in Patna’s Beur Jail during the investigation.

The High Court also granted bail to three private individuals accused of bribing Hans. Their release is now expected soon.

Senior IAS officer Ashish Kundra, a 1996-batch AGMUT cadre officer, will replace Dr. Pawan Kotwal, who retires on December 31, 2025. Kotwal became Ladakh’s first Chief Secretary after the post of Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor was redesigned earlier this year.

Kundra’s appointment comes at a crucial time for Ladakh. The UT is undergoing rapid restructuring and expansion of developmental projects. His administrative experience across regions such as Chandigarh, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli, and New Delhi strengthens expectations of steady growth.

The court rejected the petition that challenged the six-month extension granted to the former Chief Secretary. Himachal HC upholds extension for Prabodh Saxena because the Centre, according to the Bench, acted within the limits of Rule 16 of the All India Services Rules.

A Division Bench of Chief Justice GS Sandhawalia and Justice Ranjan Sharma said the court would not intervene. They explained that the Union Government used its lawful discretion while approving the extension. Moreover, they noted that the state highlighted urgent administrative needs at the time.

Prabodh Saxena, a 1990-batch IAS officer, was set to retire on March 31. However, the Centre extended his service in March. After his extended tenure ended on September 30, the state appointed him Chairman of the HPSEB for three years.

Meanwhile, advocate Atul Sharma argued that the extension violated service rules and DoPT guidelines. He also claimed that vigilance clearance should not apply because Saxena faces charges in the INX Media case.

However, the Centre informed the court that Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu requested a longer extension due to ongoing projects. After reviewing the situation, the Centre approved a six-month period.

With the petition dismissed, the legal challenge has now ended.

Pawan expressed surprise at the global admiration for Sai Baba’s spiritual power.

He said Sathya Sai Baba transformed the drought-hit Anantapur region by providing safe drinking water. According to him, the Jal Jeevan Mission launched under Prime Minister Modi drew inspiration from Sai Baba’s water projects. He praised Sai Baba for choosing a backward district like Anantapur as his birthplace. He said the region gained global recognition because of him.

Pawan added that Sathya Sai Baba influenced many people across the world. He mentioned that a senior IAS officer travels to Puttaparthi during holidays to offer service. He said devotees from several countries continue to follow Sai Baba’s teachings. Many of them regularly visit India to take part in activities.

He also noted that cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar was inspired by Sathya Sai Baba’s messages.

Hyderabad: Many residents of Jubilee Hills, once an affluent but quiet neighbourhood, have shifted their voter registration to other assembly segments like Khairatabad and Sherlingapally. Rapid commercialisation between 2000 and 2014 prompted homeowners to sell properties originally bought at very low prices.

A large part of the wealthy enclave actually falls under Khairatabad constituency rather than Jubilee Hills. The neighbourhood, nestled between Banjara Hills and Hi-Tec City, has attracted film stars, politicians, corporate leaders, and bureaucrats, making it a prestigious address in South India.

The area owes its early development to IAS officer Challagalla Narasimham, founder of the Jubilee Hills Cooperative House Building Society in the 1960s. Residents recall that the locality was calm, with sparse vegetation, and mostly government employees living there. Commercial pressure increased as vehicles and private homes multiplied.

Between 2004 and 2014, the rise of malls and business hubs transformed the area into a bustling commercial centre. Yet, challenges remain. Land encroachments, scams, and unchecked commercial interests threaten green spaces, showing that even the city’s most coveted addresses face controversies.

Hyderabad: Telangana Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has reportedly written a letter to Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao urging him not to post a particular IAS officer to his department. The minister expressed strong reservations, citing the officer’s controversial track record and tendency to create administrative hurdles.

Komatireddy is said to have conveyed that the officer’s inclusion in his department could lead to unnecessary complications and disruptions in departmental functioning. “He is known for creating trouble in every matter. Such an officer should not be assigned to my department,” the minister reportedly stated.

He further remarked that it would have been better if he had been consulted before the appointment decision was made. The development has sparked political buzz, highlighting growing tensions between ministers and bureaucrats in Telangana’s administrative setup.
