Pakistan captain Fatima Sana expressed her disappointment after rain washed away their golden opportunity to beat England in the ICC Women’s World Cup at Colombo’s R. Premadasa Stadium. Pakistan were 34 for no loss in 6.4 overs, chasing a DLS target of 113, when heavy rain ended the game. Both teams shared points, leaving Pakistan’s semifinal hopes in trouble after their third washout of the tournament.

Fatima led a strong bowling performance, taking 4 for 27 to dismantle England’s top order. Supported by Diana Baig and Sadia Iqbal, she helped restrict England to 133 for 9 in 31 overs. Her early breakthroughs, including key wickets of Heather Knight and Nat Sciver-Brunt, gave Pakistan control before rain interrupted play.

England’s lower order fought back through Charlie Dean and Emily Arlott, who added 46 runs for the eighth wicket. When Pakistan began their chase, openers Muneeba Ali and Omaima Sohail gave a solid start before the match was halted again by rain.

Fatima praised her teammates’ efforts and promised improvement in upcoming games. England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt admitted her side struggled with seam movement and said her team must adapt better to changing conditions.
