The film tells the real-life story of Indian immigrants Sagarika Chakraborty and Anurup Bhattacharya, whose children were taken by Norwegian authorities in 2011. Rani said the story moved her deeply and showed a mother’s determination to protect her child abroad.

Rani added that the film celebrates motherhood and the quiet strength women carry every day. She thanked the National Award jury for recognising her work. She hopes the film inspires viewers to honour mothers’ courage and love worldwide.
