BCCI later confirmed that all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy will miss the first three T20Is. He is recovering from a quadriceps injury and neck spasms suffered during the Adelaide ODI.

Gill enforced the follow-on after India took a 270-run lead. He said even with a larger lead, taking six or seven wickets on day five could have been tough.
