Start by cleaning drains around homes and neighborhoods to prevent waterlogging. Fix faulty electrical wiring and check connections to avoid accidents during heavy rain. Families should stock clean drinking water, essential medicines, and dry food items. Keeping flashlights, batteries, and emergency contact numbers handy helps during power cuts and emergencies.

Health precautions are equally important. Boil or filter drinking water and use mosquito nets to reduce the spread of diseases. Farmers and outdoor workers must follow official advisories and avoid working in open fields during thunderstorms.

During lightning or strong winds, stay indoors and keep away from tall trees, open spaces, and electrical poles. Avoid using mobile phones outside in bad weather. Community groups can also organize awareness drives to ensure everyone stays informed.

By taking these simple but effective steps, people can protect their families, homes, and communities from monsoon-related disasters and stay safe throughout the rainy season.
