Polling in the constituency took place on April 29. Soon after voting ended, officials received reports of serious violations. Some complaints mentioned booth capturing and voter intimidation. Others pointed to attempts to interfere with Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). In a few booths, people allegedly placed tape on voting buttons.

Election observers reviewed these complaints and submitted their reports to the Commission. Officials said the violations affected the credibility of the voting process.

After reviewing the situation, the Election Commission cancelled the polling in the constituency. Fresh voting will now take place at all 285 polling stations on May 21.

Officials said the repoll will help protect the democratic process. Authorities will also increase security to ensure smooth and fair voting.
