Their story highlights the growing crisis of Indian students trapped Russia.

Ankit and Vijay went to Russia on student visas to study the language. Later, Ankit accepted a driving job that changed his life. He and 12 other Indian youths were taken to a military camp. The group includes men from Punjab, J&K, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan.

Russian recruiters promised huge salaries and contracts. Instead, they forced the students into the army. “They point guns at us and order us to fight or die,” Ankit revealed. Five Indians have already died, and several are missing. The survivors live in harsh conditions, eating only bread and jam.

Families back in India are desperate. They approached officials and MPs for help. The students said they contacted the Indian Embassy, but no support has reached them yet. Their plea to the Ministry of External Affairs is clear: rescue us before it is too late.
