Meanwhile, the Nitish Kumar government clarified that the Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) would be held first. Applications will close in September, followed by exams in October. Only after that will the BPSC TRE 4 recruitment start, with December tentatively set for exams. However, aspirants argue TRE 4 must be completed before the Bihar Assembly elections expected in October–November.
