A major development has been reported during an anti-Maoist operation. Police arrested senior Maoist leader Erragolla Ravi, a Divisional Committee Member cadre. Two more DVCM-level cadres were also taken into custody. The arrests were confirmed by police sources involved in the operation.

Erragolla Ravi has remained an important figure within the Maoist leadership. His arrest is being viewed as a strong setback to the Maoist organisation. Police officials believe valuable information may now emerge. Details about movement patterns and internal activities are expected to surface.

In recent weeks, security forces intensified combing operations in Maoist-affected regions. Continuous surveillance and coordinated field actions were carried out. These efforts reportedly led to the successful arrests of the three senior cadres. Police teams maintained pressure through sustained ground operations.

The arrests have weakened the Maoist leadership structure in the region. Officials feel future strategies and operational plans may now be uncovered. Further questioning of the arrested leaders is currently underway. Security agencies remain alert and continue monitoring sensitive areas closely.

On November 26, teams in Imphal East detained three members from their homes. The arrested individuals include Md. Ayub Khan alias Thoiba (28), originally from Hiyangthang Tarahei Konjil and currently living near Public Hospital, Hatta; Md. Salim (35) of Kairang Mamang Leikai; and Md. Ali (46) from the Hatta area.
Officials said the trio extorted money from the public, petrol pump operators, private schools, and government colleges. Security personnel also seized a KCP (PWG) receipt and two mobile phones from them.

Meanwhile, on November 27, another team in Imphal West picked up an active cadre identified as Khulem Robindro Singh (36) of Luker Mayai Leikai. Officers arrested him at his home for recruiting local youths for the banned outfit. They also recovered his Aadhaar card during the operation.

Additionally, on the same day, forces in Imphal East detained one more active member. The arrested man, Yumnam Chandra Singh alias Baby (42) of Kontha Ahallup Makha Leikai, carried two No. 36 high-explosive grenades, a mobile phone, and an Aadhaar card. Officers seized all items.

Officials further noted that investigators are now tracing the wider network behind the group. They aim to dismantle the outfit’s recruitment and extortion chain across Manipur.

In a shocking development from the Dandakaranya forests, a sensational letter has emerged from the Maoist party. The note, reportedly issued under the name of MMC Zone representative Anant, announced that weapons would be surrendered on January 1. A dedicated open frequency number was also provided for communication.

The letter emphasized that the surrender would not be individual but collective, with all members leaving simultaneously. This decision follows a clear weakening of the party after recent encounters with security forces, which led to the deaths of prominent Maoist leaders Mallojula, Ashanna, and Hidma.

According to the communication, the central leadership requested the remaining members to surrender. The move was said to provide the party members time to reintegrate into civilian life. Maoists reportedly sought some respite in daily routines before joining the mainstream, citing safety and personal adjustments as reasons.

Security experts believe this mass surrender could significantly change the region’s law and order scenario. Authorities are reportedly preparing to coordinate reintegration programs. The development is being closely monitored across the state, raising hopes of ending decades-long insurgency in Dandakaranya.

Manipur militants arrested operation intensified over the weekend as security forces apprehended four insurgents belonging to different proscribed outfits across the state. Police said the arrests were made during a series of coordinated, intelligence-driven search operations aimed at cracking down on extortion networks and armed activities.

According to officials, the first arrest took place at a checkpoint in Kakching district, where an active cadre of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) was intercepted and detained. On the same day, another PLA member was arrested from Moirang Konjengbam in Bishnupur district during a follow-up operation.

The Manipur militants arrested operation continued into Friday, when security teams apprehended an active member of PREPAK (Pro) from the Moreh Gate area in Tengnoupal district. In a separate action, a cadre of the KCP (PWG) faction was detained from his residence in Yumnam Huidrom, Imphal West.

Police confirmed that weapons including rifles, pistols, and ammunition were seized from the captured individuals. Officials said these arrests are part of a larger push to dismantle extortion rackets, prevent targeted attacks, and restore stability in the conflict-affected regions of Manipur.

Security agencies have increased the frequency of cordon-and-search operations after receiving intelligence about the movement of armed militants across valley and hill districts. Authorities noted that the recent successes demonstrate enhanced coordination between district police units and central forces deployed in the state.

Officials added that similar drives will continue in the coming days to ensure that militant operatives involved in violence, extortion, and smuggling are brought under control. The government has urged citizens to cooperate with security forces and report any suspicious activities.

The CPI-Maoist Central Military Commission has issued a call for celebrations of the PLGA’s 25th anniversary from December 2 to 8. The appeal has come at a time when Operation Kagar is being intensified by security forces across several states. The statement urged cadres to defend the movement and resist the “Hindutva-backed state repression.” The CMC said that guerrilla actions must continue despite ongoing offensive operations.

The Maoist letter stated that 320 cadres were killed between December 2024 and November 2025. The list included party general secretary Basavaraju and several senior leaders. The document said that Chhattisgarh alone reported 243 deaths. The organisation described these losses as a major setback to the movement.

The CMC also claimed that retaliation by PLGA units caused casualties among security forces. It stated that 116 personnel were killed and 208 were injured in various attacks. The letter mentioned ambushes, IED blasts, and attacks on police informers and BJP leaders during the year.

The organisation outlined its main priorities for the anniversary period. It included protection of leadership, strict implementation of guerrilla rules, and expansion of activities in forest, plain, and urban regions. The CMC urged cadres to preserve the movement’s “revolutionary spirit” despite mounting losses.

Two individuals have been detained and a vehicle seized following a deadly attack on an Assam Rifles convoy in Manipur, which claimed the lives of two soldiers, officials said on Saturday. The incident occurred in the Senapati district, a region known for occasional insurgent activities.

According to police reports, the attack targeted a convoy of the paramilitary force while it was on routine patrol. The assailants opened fire, leading to immediate casualties. Quick response teams were deployed to the area, and the injured were rushed to nearby hospitals for medical attention.

The two detained individuals are currently being interrogated to determine their involvement and any links to militant groups operating in the region. Authorities have also seized the vehicle suspected to have been used in the attack. Investigations are underway to trace the origin of weapons used and identify possible accomplices.

This incident has raised concerns about security along key routes in Manipur, particularly in districts bordering Nagaland and Assam. The Assam Rifles, India’s oldest paramilitary force, has been engaged in counter-insurgency operations in the Northeast for decades, often facing threats from local militant groups.

State officials condemned the attack and assured that all measures are being taken to prevent similar incidents in the future. “Our forces will take every step to ensure the safety of paramilitary personnel and maintain law and order,” said a senior police officer.

The Centre has also been briefed on the situation, and additional security forces have been deployed to support ongoing operations. Local authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.

The investigation continues as authorities work to bring the perpetrators to justice while maintaining heightened security in sensitive areas across Manipur.

After the Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian government gave the armed forces full operational freedom. Operation Sindoor was then launched against Pakistan-based terrorists. The Indian Air Force carried out swift strikes in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and inside Pakistan. Several terrorist bases were destroyed in the lightning raids.

These strikes forced key groups to reconsider their positions. Reports suggest that Jaish-e-Mohammed and Hizbul Mujahideen have started relocating camps. Many are being moved from PoK to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK).Officials said India already had accurate intelligence about old camps. This made those sites highly vulnerable to future attacks. To reduce risk, terrorists began leaving PoK camps for safer border areas.

Some reports indicate that militants are moving hastily without proper arrangements. Analysts believe the shift shows how much pressure terror headquarters are now facing. The relocation offers India short-term relief. But experts also warn of new challenges. Terror groups may attempt to regroup in their new strongholds. Indian security agencies remain on high alert.

The ambush shocked residents and security agencies alike. Two soldiers were killed instantly in the firing. They were identified as Naib Subedar Shyam Gurung and Rifleman Ranjit Singh Kashyap.
The attack happened on National Highway-2 when the convoy was moving from Imphal towards Bishnupur. The site is just eight kilometres from Imphal airport. The location of the attack raised serious security concerns. Many questioned how militants could strike so close to key installations.

No group has claimed responsibility so far. The Manipur government and security forces condemned the incident.
