Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United) has started a strict review of its MLAs ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections. The party will survey every MLA to check their grassroots work and public reach. Leaders will collect reports from each constituency to see who connects well with voters. Poor performers will lose their chance to contest.

The JDU wants to avoid the mistakes of 2020. In that election, the party contested 115 seats but won only 43. Later, BSP’s Jama Khan and LJP’s Rajkumar Singh joined, raising the tally to 45. Compared to 2015, the JDU lost 28 seats and 1.5% of its vote share. Party leaders admit that weak screening and wrong candidate choices cost them heavily. A powerful leader, no longer in the party, pushed several unfit names last time.

This year, Nitish Kumar plans to block such influence. The leadership will check every claim from sitting MLAs and new aspirants. Multiple hopefuls are ready for each seat, and the party will compare their records. Many new faces may get a chance where voters want change.

The JDU aims to reward hard-working leaders and drop those with poor public support. By tightening ticket distribution, the party hopes to regain lost ground and perform better in the coming Bihar polls.

The Janata Dal United (JDU) has placed a special focus on 50 weak seats ahead of the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. In 2020, the party lost these constituencies due to the influence of Chirag Paswan’s LJP and Upendra Kushwaha’s RLSP. Their campaigns split JDU’s core vote base and cost more than 40 seats. This time, both leaders stand with the NDA, changing the ground equation.

Strategy for Weak Seats

JDU has built a fresh plan to regain these 50 constituencies. Senior officials and coordinators will supervise every seat. Earlier defeats were linked to sabotage and defections, but the leadership now insists on unity and close monitoring.

Booth Management Drive

Booth-level strength forms the core of the plan. Each booth will have 10–12 active workers who will reach out to voters directly. District units will mark sensitive booths and ensure personal contact with people across the constituencies.

Leadership Confidence

Senior leader Vijay Kumar Chaudhary stated that the party has moved forward with stronger unity. With Paswan and Kushwaha inside the NDA fold, he said disputes will not arise. “We are working harder this time, and with combined efforts, NDA will gain more seats,” he added.
