Compared to 2015, the JDU lost 28 seats and 1.5% of its vote share. Party leaders admit that weak screening and wrong candidate choices cost them heavily. A powerful leader, no longer in the party, pushed several unfit names last time.

This year, Nitish Kumar plans to block such influence. The leadership will check every claim from sitting MLAs and new aspirants. Multiple hopefuls are ready for each seat, and the party will compare their records. Many new faces may get a chance where voters want change.

The JDU aims to reward hard-working leaders and drop those with poor public support. By tightening ticket distribution, the party hopes to regain lost ground and perform better in the coming Bihar polls.

Booth-level strength forms the core of the plan. Each booth will have 10–12 active workers who will reach out to voters directly. District units will mark sensitive booths and ensure personal contact with people across the constituencies.

Leadership Confidence

Senior leader Vijay Kumar Chaudhary stated that the party has moved forward with stronger unity. With Paswan and Kushwaha inside the NDA fold, he said disputes will not arise. “We are working harder this time, and with combined efforts, NDA will gain more seats,” he added.
