Officials seized 5.5 kg of gold and diamond jewelry, ₹1 crore in cash, and 200 land deeds. They also recovered important documents linked to tax evasion. Investigators found irregularities across the group’s wide business network, including real estate, hotels, malls, clothing outlets, vehicles, tea estates, and resorts.

The Dapthary Group is run by three brothers—Rajkaran, Vijaykaran, and Tejkaran Dapthary. Properties were searched at over a dozen sites in Bihar, including Nemchand Road, Dharmshala Road, and several tea estates. The group had been cultivating tea on nearly 200 acres and selling it under brand names like Rajvanshi and Word. During the raids, officials also uncovered hidden warehouses and godowns stocked with large quantities of goods.

This raid is considered one of the biggest in Bihar’s Kishanganj district. The crackdown has caused panic among other big business groups in the region. The IT Department suggested that more benami assets could be uncovered as the investigation continues.
