Kushwaha with 4 seats gets RS ticket despite his party having fewer MLAs than LJP, which holds 19 seats in the Assembly. The decision has sparked political discussion across the state.

The NDA has almost finalised its candidates for five Rajya Sabha seats from Bihar. Upendra Kushwaha, leader of the Rashtriya Lok Morcha, secured one seat. Meanwhile, LJP (Ram Vilas), led by Chirag Paswan, did not get a nomination this time.

Sources say seat-sharing talks played a key role in the decision. BJP and JD(U) have also announced or are preparing to announce their candidates.

After missing out, LJP leaders said they respect the NDA’s decision. The party confirmed it will support all alliance candidates in the election.

Voting for the Rajya Sabha seats will take place later this month.

Patna:
The next Bihar government will be sworn in on November 20, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi expected to attend the ceremony, according to sources. Several senior leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), including union ministers and chief ministers from NDA-ruled states, are also likely to be present at the oath-taking event in Patna.

The announcement follows a high-level meeting in Delhi where Janata Dal United (JDU) working president Sanjay Kumar Jha and other NDA leaders met Union Home Minister Amit Shah to finalise the contours of the new government.

Earlier, sources confirmed that the NDA has agreed on a cabinet formation formula under which each alliance partner will receive one ministerial berth for every six MLAs. As per this plan, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is expected to secure 15–16 ministerial positions, while the JDU will receive 14.

Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) will be allocated three ministerial berths, while the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) led by Jitan Ram Manjhi and Upendra Kushwaha’s Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) may receive one berth each.

Though the NDA has not officially declared its chief ministerial pick, most alliance leaders — including Paswan and Manjhi — have publicly supported Nitish Kumar for another term. “It is for the legislators to decide, but I personally feel Nitish Kumar should continue,” Paswan said in Patna.

The NDA swept the 2025 Bihar assembly elections, winning 202 seats in the 243-member House. The BJP emerged as the single largest party with 89 seats, followed by the JDU with 85. The LJP-RV, HAM(S), and RLM secured 19, five, and four seats, respectively, positioning the alliance for a decisive and stable government formation.

A sudden death in the Gaighat Assembly constituency of Muzaffarpur has sparked major controversy during the Bihar Elections 2025. The District Magistrate (DM) clarified that some media reports linking the death to voting were false. Officials said the man died after a personal dispute involving plucking leaves from a jalebi tree, not due to any political cause. The administration urged citizens to trust verified sources and avoid spreading rumors on social media.

However, the issue turned political when Chirag Paswan of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) dismissed the DM’s statement and called it a “political murder.” He claimed that RJD supporters were behind the killing and that it reflected a return to “jungle raj” politics. Chirag Paswan demanded strict action against those responsible and announced that his party leaders would visit the victim’s family to investigate the truth.

The Muzaffarpur incident shows how quickly tensions can rise during the Bihar Elections 2025, as parties use every issue to influence public opinion.

In the Bihar Elections Sahibpur Kamal, caste equations are once again shaping the contest. The constituency, known for its strong Yadav, Muslim, and Kurmi populations, has remained a Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) bastion for decades. The late Shrinayaran Yadav’s family has held influence here, and his son Sattanand Sambuddha (Lalan Yadav) currently represents the seat. In the 2020 elections, he defeated the NDA-backed JDU candidate Amar Kumar Singh by nearly 14,000 votes.

This year, the NDA is pushing hard to reclaim the seat. LJP candidate Surendra Kumar (Surendra Vivek) has entered the fray, supported by the NDA. Meanwhile, Amar Kumar Singh is contesting as an independent, making the battle triangular. Analysts believe the result will depend on “silent votes” from Extremely Backward Castes, who may decide the winner.

Historically, Congress, Janata Dal, and RJD have alternated control of the seat. RJD has won five times, maintaining a strong Yadav base. The NDA hopes to consolidate Kurmi and EBC support to challenge the RJD’s hold. With a close caste balance and shifting alliances, Sahibpur Kamal remains one of the most closely watched constituencies in Bihar Elections Sahibpur Kamal.

This time, the NDA has revised its plan by adding the LJP (Ram Vilas Paswan) and HAM as strong partners.

The NDA strategy in Magadh Bihar elections 2025 aims to win back Dalit and backward voters. Districts like Gaya, Nawada, Arwal, Aurangabad, and Jehanabad are key targets. The JDU hopes to perform better than before. On the other side, RJD and Congress have replaced many old candidates to defend their lead.

Both alliances are carefully choosing candidates to balance social groups. Dalit and backward communities will play a major role in the final outcome. The election will show if NDA’s new approach can challenge the Grand Alliance’s hold in Magadh.

In East Champaran, BJP contests seven of nine seats, showing the Champaran region’s importance for its campaign. Meanwhile, BJP has seven candidates in Patna district and maintains a strong base in Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Bhojpur, and Madhubani.

Compared to 2020, when BJP contested 110 seats, the party’s reach has reduced slightly, with Rohtas newly added to its no-contest list. The NDA seat-sharing sees JDU and BJP fielding 101 candidates each, LJP (R) 29, and HAM and RLM six each.

This election shows BJP’s focus on key regions while relying on allies in others.

Dr. Satyaprakash later met LJP candidate Hulas Pandey. He promised full support and said the NDA would form the next Bihar government. This decision started new discussions in political circles.

Party members said health issues forced him to step back. However, many believe internal problems caused this sudden exit. The Prashant Kishor setback became a hot topic across the state.

Prashant Kishor had earlier announced that Jan Suraj would contest all 243 seats alone. He claimed the party would win 150 seats and bring change. But this incident shows rising internal differences before the elections.

The Mahua seat is currently held by RJD’s Mukesh Roshan and will witness a tough contest. Tej Pratap Yadav, son of Lalu Prasad Yadav, is also in the fray after being expelled from RJD. The NDA has allotted the seat to Chirag Paswan’s LJP-R, which has nominated Sanjay Singh. Interestingly, most key candidates, including Rai and Tej Pratap, belong to the Yadav community, which forms a large vote base in Mahua. Voting will take place on November 6.

In a major political move, Suraj Bhan Singh joins RJD, quitting Pashupati Paras’s Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party. He was welcomed by Tejashwi Yadav, who officially inducted him into the Rashtriya Janata Dal. Suraj Bhan Singh joins RJD to revive his strong influence in Mokama politics. His wife, Veena Devi, is expected to contest from the Mokama Assembly seat against Anant Singh on an RJD ticket.

Suraj Bhan Singh, a former MP from Ballia, has been an active political player since 2000 when he won from Mokama even while in jail. His family has produced three MPs — himself, his wife Veena Devi from Munger, and his brother Chandan Singh from Nawada. However, none could contest in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls due to the RLJP’s internal crisis.

Anant Singh, the five-time MLA from Mokama, remains a strong rival. His wife, Neelam Devi, also won the 2022 by-election. The political fight in Mokama is set to intensify, with Veena Devi’s RJD entry bringing new energy to the constituency.
