The Madhya Pradesh Congress has launched a new political experiment that has stirred fresh debate in state politics. The party announced a “Talent Hunt Programme” to select new spokespersons and strengthen its public communication against the BJP.

State Congress president Jitu Patwari formally unveiled the initiative during a press conference. He said the party needs committed voices who understand current issues and can present Congress ideology clearly. He stressed that selection will focus on merit, subject knowledge, and communication skills.

Under the programme, candidates can apply until February 28. The process will run from district to national level. Interviews will take place at the divisional level. AICC-appointed coordinators, senior leaders, district presidents, and the talent hunt committee will assess applicants. The All India Congress Committee will take the final decision.

The party plans to select 20 state spokespersons. It will also appoint media panelists at state, divisional, district, and national levels, including a dedicated English media panelist.

The BJP mocked the move and questioned Congress intent. BJP MLA Rameshwar Sharma said Congress lacks internal talent. Ministers Govind Singh Rajput and Pradyuman Singh Tomar added that Congress needs experience, not experiments.

The initiative has turned spokesperson selection into a political flashpoint. The coming weeks will show whether the talent hunt delivers strong voices or remains a political talking point.

Indore mayor son video has gone viral as the city faces outrage over deaths linked to contaminated water in Bhagirthpura. The clip features Sanghmitra Bhargava, son of Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava, delivering a sharp critique of central government policies during a debate event.

The video dates back to September 4, 2025, at Devi Ahilya University. Representing Daly College, Sanghmitra questioned railway privatisation, bullet train delays, and public safety failures. He highlighted long waiting lists, stalled infrastructure projects, and rising casualties in train accidents. His emotional remarks described how accidents shatter families and destroy futures.

Notably, the speech took place in the presence of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar, senior ministers, MPs, and the mayor himself. BJP leaders listened quietly as the audience applauded loudly.

The video has resurfaced amid allegations against the Indore Municipal Corporation. Residents of Bhagirthpura claim contaminated water caused multiple deaths. Official records confirm six fatalities, while locals allege the number has reached seventeen. They say repeated complaints went ignored.

Social media users now link Sanghmitra’s words to current events. Many argue that governance failures mirror the criticism voiced in his speech. Some question whether civic authorities showed the same concern for citizens as the young speaker showed on stage. The clip continues to fuel debate across political and civic circles.

Indore water deaths controversy has intensified after Congress leader Jitu Patwari launched a sharp attack on the BJP government. The issue relates to deaths caused by contaminated water in Indore’s Bhagirthpura area. Patwari termed the incident a “government killing” and accused the administration of corruption and arrogance.

Speaking to the media, the Madhya Pradesh Congress president said people earlier died due to spurious liquor. He claimed BJP rule has now forced citizens to die after drinking poisoned water. He asserted that the Congress will approach the High Court seeking justice for the victims.

Patwari alleged that tenders for a new water pipeline were cleared in 2022. However, disputes over commission sharing and contractor stakes stalled the project. As a result, authorities never laid the pipeline. He further claimed the Pollution Control Board warned about water contamination in 2017. Despite this, officials allegedly ignored the report.

Holding senior leaders accountable, Patwari demanded immediate dismissal of cabinet minister Kailash Vijayvargiya. He also sought an FIR against Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava. He called for criminal cases against the municipal commissioner and the local councillor.

Patwari said Indore contributes nearly 20 percent to Madhya Pradesh’s economy. Despite this, the city receives little development support. He questioned how residents still die without clean water. He urged Chief Minister Mohan Yadav to act firmly against corrupt officials.

Bhopal, January 2, 2026: Indore water tragedy triggered sharp political reactions after at least 10 people died due to alleged contamination of drinking water in the city. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday blamed the BJP’s double-engine government in Madhya Pradesh and accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of remaining silent when the poor suffer.

In a post on X, Rahul Gandhi said the Indore water tragedy exposed deep administrative failure. He alleged that sewage-contaminated water reached households in Bhagirathpura and caused widespread illness and deaths. “Not water, but poison was distributed in Indore,” he wrote, adding that officials stayed asleep despite repeated complaints.

Rahul Gandhi described Madhya Pradesh as the epicentre of misgovernance. He cited earlier incidents, including deaths linked to cough syrup and poor hygiene in government hospitals. According to him, insensitive leadership worsened the pain of grieving families.

The controversy intensified after senior BJP minister Kailash Vijayvargiya used an objectionable remark when questioned about the incident. Rahul Gandhi said victims needed compassion, not arrogance.

Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava confirmed 10 deaths due to a diarrhoea outbreak. However, local residents claimed the toll reached 14, including an infant. Health officials have not verified this figure.

CMHO Dr. Madhav Prasad Hasani said lab tests confirmed water contamination due to pipeline leakage. Officials found the leak near a toilet built over the main supply line. More than 1,400 people have fallen ill in the area over nine days.
