The latest Bihar exit poll analysis shows a clear shift in voter mood in the Magadh and Shahabad regions. With voting for the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections now complete, attention has turned to the final results on November 14. Most surveys suggest that the Nitish Kumar-led NDA may return to power. This Bihar exit poll analysis highlights surprising changes in two key regions that were earlier strongholds of the Grand Alliance.

Exit poll numbers from Axis My India show the NDA gaining momentum in Magadh and Shahabad. These regions, which include Patna, Jehanabad, Gaya, Ara, Buxar, Rohtas, and Kaimur, are showing a strong tilt toward the NDA. The survey predicts that the NDA may win up to 35 seats in the Pataliputra–Magadh belt, while the Grand Alliance may win around 25.

In the Shahabad belt, the NDA is expected to secure 27 out of 49 seats. The Grand Alliance may win 21, with the rest going to smaller parties. This marks a major turnaround, as the Grand Alliance dominated these areas during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The NDA’s rise in other regions, like Mithila and Champaran, also strengthens its overall position in the state.

In 2020, the Grand Alliance won 20 of 26 seats in Magadh, while the NDA managed only six. This time, the NDA has revised its plan by adding the LJP (Ram Vilas Paswan) and HAM as strong partners.

The NDA strategy in Magadh Bihar elections 2025 aims to win back Dalit and backward voters. Districts like Gaya, Nawada, Arwal, Aurangabad, and Jehanabad are key targets. The JDU hopes to perform better than before. On the other side, RJD and Congress have replaced many old candidates to defend their lead.

Both alliances are carefully choosing candidates to balance social groups. Dalit and backward communities will play a major role in the final outcome. The election will show if NDA’s new approach can challenge the Grand Alliance’s hold in Magadh.

CPI-ML MLA Rambali Singh Yadav announced his nomination from the Ghosi assembly seat in Jehanabad, Bihar. Suspense grew after former MLA Rahul Sharma joined RJD, leaving Nitish Kumar’s JDU. Before the Grand Alliance finalized seat sharing, Rambali declared his nomination for October 16. This sparked doubts over Rahul Sharma RJD Ghosi seat and his possible candidature.

Rahul Sharma, from the Bhumihar community, became MLA in 2010 on a JDU ticket. His father, Jagdish Sharma, served eight terms from the same seat. Tejashwi Yadav brought Rahul into RJD to attract Bhumihar voters in Magadh. However, Rambali Singh Yadav of CPI(ML), an RJD ally, refuses to give up Ghosi. Now, Tejashwi must decide which seat Rahul will get.

In 2020, Rambali defeated Rahul by 17,333 votes. The Ghosi Assembly polls are in the second phase on November 11, and nominations start October 13. The final decision depends on the Grand Alliance seat-sharing announcement.

In Bihar, Tejashwi’s Bhumihar move has caused political tremors within the NDA. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s strategy of attracting Bhumihar leaders has unsettled BJP and JDU ranks. To counter it, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar reinstated Arun Kumar, a veteran Bhumihar leader from Jehanabad, into the JDU. Arun, once part of the Samata Party and RLSP, rejoined the party alongside his son Rituraj.

Arun’s return signals JDU’s effort to regain the Magadh region, where NDA lost ground in 2020. Earlier, Tejashwi inducted Rahul Sharma, son of veteran Bhumihar leader Jagdish Sharma, into the RJD. Both Arun and Jagdish have switched parties often, but this time, Nitish seems keen to strengthen his caste base before future elections.

Though Lallan Singh initially blocked Arun’s entry, changing political equations forced the JDU to welcome him. His induction marks Nitish’s renewed bid to restore NDA’s balance amid Tejashwi’s Bhumihar move.
