The Congress struggled again despite contesting 61 seats. It managed leads in only 14 constituencies, mirroring its weak performance in the 2020 election. The RJD, which contested 143 of the state’s 243 seats, also faced pressure. Its earlier momentum from 2020, when it emerged as the single-largest party with 75 wins, did not carry forward into the early counting rounds.

Other Mahagathbandhan partners, including the Left parties and the Vikassheel Insaan Party, faced tough contests in many seats. The early trends reflected a clear tilt toward the NDA, signalling that the electoral mood might favour the ruling alliance as counting progresses through the day.
