Speaking to the media, Tej Pratap Yadav said that leaders like Karpoori Thakur, Mahatma Gandhi, and Baba Saheb Ambedkar worked for the people. The eldest son of Lalu Prasad Yadav, Tej Pratap, was expelled from the RJD and launched his own party, Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD). He is contesting from the Mahua seat and has fielded several JJD candidates across Bihar.

During his campaign in Mahua, Tej Pratap drew attention with a unique roadshow featuring a man dressed as Mahatma Gandhi. His campaign style reflected his admiration for Gandhian ideals.
