A special awareness drive was held in Manimajra’s Ward 5 (Mori Gate) and Ward 6 (Govindpura). Accompanied by traditional dhol-nagara, officials visited the homes of those caught littering. In a striking measure, the discarded garbage was returned to the offenders, followed by an immediate penalty of ₹13,401 each.

Led by Sanitary Inspector Davinder Rohilla, the campaign aims to instill accountability and deter habitual violators. Commissioner Amit Kumar urged residents to avoid littering and use only MC-operated vehicles for waste segregation and disposal. He noted rising public vigilance, with more citizens reporting violations through the app.

The initiative saw strong participation from residents and Safai Mitras, strengthening Chandigarh’s mission to become India’s cleanest city.

A major part of the interaction centered on cybercrime awareness, where students were warned about the dangers associated with social media misuse, online gaming, and sharing personal information on the internet. Police officials emphasized the importance of reporting suspicious online behavior and seeking parental guidance.

The session saw active participation from around 250 students and teachers, with many children engaging the officers with questions related to online safety and personal protection. The initiative aimed to strengthen student awareness and build safer habits among young learners.
