For the past 20 days, several rounds of discussions were held between hospital authorities and the state government, but they ended without any resolution. Hospitals argue that they have been struggling to operate under financial stress as dues have remained unpaid for the last 12 months.

With around 330 hospitals participating in the scheme statewide, the suspension of services is expected to impact thousands of patients who rely on Aarogyasri for free or subsidized medical treatment. Hospital associations stressed that services can only be resumed once the government clears the long-pending arrears. The move highlights growing tensions between private healthcare providers and the state over timely settlement of medical bills.
