Intense activity has been seen across Telangana villages as local elections approach. The sarpanch polls have been conducted with assembly-level excitement. Candidates have been working hard to attract voters. Heavy expenses have been planned to secure a winning edge.

Various strategies have been used to counter rivals. Special gifts have been delivered to households a day before polling. In several villages, chicken, mutton, and liquor have been arranged for distribution. Cash offers between ₹1,000 and ₹2,000 per vote have also been reported in some areas.

Polling is scheduled in 4,236 villages. All arrangements have been completed by the Election Commission. Early morning delivery teams have been assigned by candidates to supply chicken to each home. Quarter-bottles for men have also been prepared. Rivals have reacted by planning direct cash payments for support.

Transport for migrant voters has been arranged with buses and cars. Travel expenses have been promised after voting. Agreements with voter groups have been made in some villages. Overall, unusual activity has been witnessed as the elections create festive-like scenes in rural areas.

In Jale, the Chhath festival and Bihar elections are coming together, creating a rare mix of devotion and politics. Thousands of migrant workers have returned home to celebrate the Chhath festival and are now the focus of political attention. The candidates are keenly observing these migrant voters, hoping to win their support.

The ghats along the Khiroi River and nearby ponds have been beautifully decorated with lamps and flowers. Around 25 ghats in Jale Nagar Parishad and many others in Kamtaul and Ahiari Nagar Panchayats are ready for the puja. Committees have ensured cleanliness, lighting, and safety for devotees.

This year, nearly 15,000 to 20,000 migrants have already returned, and more are expected. With about 3.14 lakh voters in Jale block, the returning migrants can make a big difference in the elections. Most of the nine candidates are expected to visit the ghats, meet people, and offer prayers, mixing faith with politics.

The Chhath festival and Bihar elections have turned the ghats into not only places of worship but also platforms for political dialogue and connection.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) is preparing to conduct a nationwide Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list. Officials indicated the process may begin in October, soon after the Bihar assembly elections conclude.

On Wednesday, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar met Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) from all states and union territories. The three-and-a-half-hour meeting included multiple presentations. The session discussed the strategy, timelines, and preparations required for the SIR process. The proposal reportedly received approval during the workshop.

The Election Commission instructed CEOs to finalize a list of documents that voters can use for verification. These papers must be simple, locally accepted, and easily available. States were also advised to consider multiple factors before fixing the verification procedure. The commission clarified that the main aim of the SIR is to remove the names of deceased persons and migrants from the rolls.

Officials assured that groundwork for the revision would be completed by the end of this month. The exercise is expected to ensure cleaner, more accurate electoral rolls ahead of upcoming state and national elections, strengthening the transparency and credibility of the democratic process.
