The incident took place in Lohargaonwa village of East Champaran district on Tuesday evening. After the eclipse ended, the children went to bathe in a nearby river as part of a traditional ritual.

According to local reports, one child slipped into deep water. The others tried to rescue him but also got pulled into the strong current. None of them could swim.

Villagers rushed to the spot and informed authorities. Rescue teams searched the river for hours before recovering all six bodies.

The deaths have devastated the families. Local officials expressed grief and assured financial help. Police have started an investigation into the incident.
