He reminded people that the memorial was first laid in 2019 and now stands as a tribute to thousands who joined the movement. Sarma clarified that his remarks were directed at illegal infiltrators, not against the Bengali community, countering recent TMC allegations. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also remembered the Assam Movement martyrs, reaffirming the commitment to protect Assam’s cultural identity and ensure long-term development.

]]> Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said the NDA is set for a major victory in the upcoming elections in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu, asserting that people across the country have rejected the Congress and its allies. Addressing an event of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, Shah said the BJP-led alliance recently secured a two-thirds majority in the Bihar Assembly and will repeat similar results in Bengal and Tamil Nadu next year.

Highlighting a decade of electoral success, Shah said the BJP has maintained a winning streak since 2014, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi securing a historic third term in 2024. He criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for repeatedly questioning EVMs despite widespread rejection of Congress in states like Maharashtra, Haryana, Delhi and now Bihar.

Shah also announced that Ahmedabad will host the 2029 World Police and Fire Games, the 2030 Commonwealth Games and the 2036 Olympics, positioning the city as a global sports hub. He further said the Ram Temple in Ayodhya is now complete and that a temple dedicated to Sita Mata will be ready in Bihar by 2026.

Shah claimed the NDA will sweep Bengal and Tamil Nadu, saying people trust PM Modi’s leadership for India’s development.
