Six NH projects in Bihar stalled due to pending approval from the central government, putting highway development worth more than ₹51,000 crore on hold. Officials say the projects have received financial clearance but still require final approval from the Union Cabinet.

Because of this delay, six NH projects in Bihar stalled remain stuck in files and construction work cannot begin. Land acquisition has also slowed down, which further delays the projects.

One of the most important projects is the Patna–Purnia expressway. The four-lane expressway will stretch about 245 km and may cost around ₹31,987 crore. Once completed, travel between the two cities could take only about three hours.

Another key project is a 13.41-km six-lane elevated road between Anisabad and Didarganj in Patna. It aims to reduce traffic congestion and improve connectivity with several national highways.

A part of the Varanasi–Ranchi–Kolkata six-lane highway is also among the delayed projects. The road will include a bridge over the Son River and improve transport connectivity in eastern India.

Officials say construction can move faster once the Cabinet gives its final approval.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma visited Delhi on Tuesday and held several high-level political and administrative meetings. During the visit, he met BJP National Executive President Nitin Nabin and discussed organisational and governance-related matters linked to Rajasthan.

The Chief Minister also met Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari to review two major national highway projects. The discussions focused on the 99.35-kilometre Northern Jaipur Ring Road and the 394-kilometre Jaipur–Amritsar–Jamnagar Corridor. Sharma stressed the need for timely execution and smooth coordination. He said these projects will improve traffic flow and support industrial growth.

Later, Bhajanlal Sharma reached the residence of Union Minister C R Patil, where the Haryana Chief Minister was also present. Union Ministers Bhupender Yadav and Rao Inderjit Singh attended the meeting. Rajasthan Water Resources Minister Suresh Singh Rawat and Haryana ministers Shruti Choudhary and Rao Narbir Singh were also present.

The meeting focused on the long-pending waterlogging issue in Bhiwadi and Dharuhera. Leaders discussed problems on National Highway 919, where rainwater disrupts traffic and industry. Suresh Singh Rawat said both states held positive talks. He added that coordinated action will soon deliver a permanent solution.

Officials view the Delhi visit as important for resolving infrastructure challenges in the Bhiwadi–Dharuhera industrial belt.
