On Friday, 45-year-old Ushaben Solanki collapsed while checking voter forms at Pratap Vidyalaya in Sayajiganj. She assisted BLO Vaishaliben Patel during the ongoing SIR exercise. Staff members rushed to help. They first took her to a nearby clinic and later shifted her to Sayaji Hospital in a 108 ambulance. Doctors tried to save her, but she did not survive.

Ushaben worked at Gorwa ITI and joined the SIR team temporarily. Many employees say the workload keeps rising. They struggle with long hours, rising stress, and limited support.

Her death came a day after a BLO in Gir Somnath district died by suicide. His note mentioned emotional exhaustion due to SIR duties. The back-to-back tragedies sparked anger and fear among workers.

Family members reached the hospital in shock. Colleagues gathered and demanded safety measures, medical assistance, and fair workload policies. Political leaders and unions also called for urgent government action.

Officials have not issued a detailed response yet. Employees want immediate reforms to protect lives and prevent more tragedies.
