The meeting highlighted that Healthcare Projects in Ladakh remain a top priority for the UT administration and must move forward quickly to benefit citizens.

During the discussion, LG Gupta thanked the Union Government for its continued support. He updated JP Nadda on the progress of Ladakh’s first Medical College and the proposed Nursing College in Leh. Land allotment, central funding and proposal submissions are already complete. He requested faster administrative approvals so both institutions can start soon.

The upgrade of District Hospital Kargil from 100 to 200 beds also came up. Construction work is moving ahead, but the approval of essential medical posts still needs urgency.

LG Gupta further called for a CGHS wellness centre in Leh to support central employees and pensioners living in Ladakh. He also sought full PMJAY coverage for the ST population due to higher treatment costs in the region.

Other proposals included a dedicated AYUSH Hospital and an AIIMS campus in Leh to improve tertiary care and medical research. JP Nadda welcomed the ideas and assured full cooperation from the Ministry.

Speaking in New Delhi, he said Hindi now represents India’s rising global confidence and cultural unity.

At the international conference on Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, held at Vigyan Bhawan, scholars, academicians, writers, and administrators explored the leader’s philosophy and legacy. The event celebrated his 110th birth anniversary and highlighted the importance of cultural identity in modern India.

LG Kavinder Gupta stressed that Hindi Symbolises India’s Confidence because it connects diverse communities emotionally and historically. He noted that more young Indians want to study, speak, and work in Hindi, which signals renewed national pride.

He praised the Vishwa Hindi Parishad and ICPR for promoting Hindi through research, dialogue, and global participation. He also appreciated the enthusiasm for Hindi among Ladakh’s youth, explaining that Ladakh’s multilingual character enriches India’s cultural landscape.

The Lieutenant Governor credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving Hindi global visibility through international speeches. He encouraged students to stay rooted in cultural values while embracing innovation and global opportunities.

The conference featured book releases, a documentary screening, and interactions with leading thinkers who discussed nationalism, humanism, and India’s civilizational vision.

The Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers’ Rights Authority (PPV&FRA) presented the honour for the year 2022–23.

The ceremony took place in New Delhi on Wednesday, November 12. Union Minister for Agriculture Shivraj Singh Chouhan personally handed over the Plant Genome Saviour Farmer Recognition Award to Mr. Javali. The honour included a cash prize of ₹1 lakh and a citation.

Shivamogga farmer Ananthamurthy Javali has long worked to conserve traditional plant varieties. His continuous efforts have strengthened biodiversity and promoted sustainable farming methods.

Moreover, Dr. Nagarajappa Adiveppar, professor at Keladi Shivappa Nayaka University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences, also received appreciation.
