The house also has spacious gardens, special lighting, staff quarters, and a guard room. Security is tight because CCTV cameras cover the entire campus. On paper, the bungalow is comfortable and safe.

Still, Rabri Devi and the RJD family do not want to move. They have lived at 10 Circular Road for almost 20 years. That house was once her official Chief Minister residence. The RJD believes the current government wants to force them out. They also see this as a political move linked to Tejashwi Yadav’s past decision in 2017, when the earlier bungalow privilege was cancelled after a court order.

The 2025 Bihar election results added more pressure. With RJD’s numbers shrinking, Rabri Devi may lose her position as Leader of the Opposition in the next few years. If that happens, she could lose her housing privilege too. This fear is a major reason she avoids shifting from her old residence.
