India has made a strong mark with Netflix’s Amar Singh Chamkila, which earned nominations for Best TV Movie/Mini-Series and Best Actor for singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh. The film explores the life and music of Punjabi folk legend Amar Singh Chamkila, whose fearless songs continue to inspire new generations.

The BBC’s crime comedy Ludwig is another standout, competing in Best Comedy and earning a Best Actor nod for British star David Mitchell. Other notable nominees include Hulu’s British drama Rivals, Netflix’s ambitious adaptation of 100 Years of Solitude, Australia’s hit animated series Bluey, and Mexico’s gripping police drama Las Azules.

In acting categories, Diljit Dosanjh (India), David Mitchell (UK), Oriol Pla (Spain), and Diego Vasquez (Colombia) are contenders for Best Actor, while Charlotte Hope (South Africa), Anna Maxwell Martin (UK), Carolina Miranda (Mexico), and Maria Sid (Sweden) compete for Best Actress.

The winners will be announced at a glittering ceremony in New York City on November 24. International Academy president and CEO Bruce L. Paisner praised the “creativity and caliber” of this year’s nominees, saying the event will showcase the global power of storytelling.

Countries represented on the list include Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong-China, India, Israel, Japan, Kenya, Mexico, Norway, Qatar, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom.
