According to officials, the first arrest took place at a checkpoint in Kakching district, where an active cadre of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) was intercepted and detained. On the same day, another PLA member was arrested from Moirang Konjengbam in Bishnupur district during a follow-up operation.

The Manipur militants arrested operation continued into Friday, when security teams apprehended an active member of PREPAK (Pro) from the Moreh Gate area in Tengnoupal district. In a separate action, a cadre of the KCP (PWG) faction was detained from his residence in Yumnam Huidrom, Imphal West.

Police confirmed that weapons including rifles, pistols, and ammunition were seized from the captured individuals. Officials said these arrests are part of a larger push to dismantle extortion rackets, prevent targeted attacks, and restore stability in the conflict-affected regions of Manipur.

Security agencies have increased the frequency of cordon-and-search operations after receiving intelligence about the movement of armed militants across valley and hill districts. Authorities noted that the recent successes demonstrate enhanced coordination between district police units and central forces deployed in the state.
