]]> Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand will visit India, Singapore, and China from October 12 to 17 under Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy. Her visit aims to strengthen cooperation and advance bilateral relations.

In India, starting October 13, Anand will meet External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal. Discussions will focus on trade diversification, energy transformation, and strategic cooperation. She will also visit Mumbai to engage with Canadian and Indian businesses to boost investment and jobs.

The visit follows recent efforts to reset India-Canada relations, including the G7 meeting between Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Mark Carney. New High Commissioners, Christopher Cooter and Dinesh K. Patnaik, have been appointed. NSA Ajit Doval also met his Canadian counterpart to discuss counterterrorism, transnational crime, and intelligence cooperation.

After India, Anand will travel to Singapore to meet Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, focusing on Canada-ASEAN Free Trade Agreement negotiations. The tour will conclude in China, where she will meet Foreign Minister Wang Yi to discuss the Canada-China Strategic Partnership, building on commitments to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties.
