He made the remark amid strong speculation about a possible change in the chief minister’s post in the state.

Speaking to reporters in Patna, Paswan said Nitish Kumar dignity will remain regardless of political developments. He praised the long experience and contributions of Nitish Kumar and said both the state and central leadership would continue to respect him.

Political discussions increased after Nitish Kumar won a seat in the Rajya Sabha and resigned from the Bihar Legislative Council. Reports suggest he may step down as chief minister once he takes oath as a Rajya Sabha member, which could lead to the formation of a new government in Bihar.

Paswan also criticized Tejashwi Yadav for allegedly making statements that harm Bihar’s image during election campaigns in other states.

The party has written to the state Building Construction Department seeking an explanation for the continued occupation of official bungalows in Patna.

In its letter, the Rashtriya Janata Dal said senior leaders are enjoying government housing even after getting official residences in New Delhi. The party named JD(U) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Jha and Union minister Jitan Ram Manjhi in its complaint.

RJD leaders said Sanjay Jha already has a government residence in the national capital. Despite this, he continues to stay in a bungalow from Bihar’s central pool. The party asked why the bungalow has not been vacated so far.

The letter also raised questions about Jitan Ram Manjhi’s stay in a Patna government bungalow. RJD demanded details on the rules that allow him to keep the house and the rent being paid for it.

RJD urged the department to act without delay and ensure fair use of government property. The issue has once again brought focus on the misuse of official accommodation in Bihar politics.

Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Samrat Chaudhary said the Bihar crackdown on goonda banks will continue until every illegal bank is shut. He added that these groups charge very high interest and force people to mortgage their land. Ending this system is now a top priority.

Chaudhary spoke at an event in Patna where 48 Steno Assistant Sub-Inspectors received appointment letters. He said only RBI-approved banks can operate in the state. Rogue banks will not be allowed anymore.

He also said the government is focusing on technology-based policing. District police officers were told to hold regular public hearings and ensure quick trials for serious crimes. He stressed that no mafia group will be spared.

AI-based security cameras will soon be installed across Bihar. Over 10,000 CCTV cameras are already being set up in jails. Cameras will also be placed at railway stations, city squares, and panchayat entry points.

Of the 54 recommended candidates for Steno Inspector posts, 48 received appointment letters, including 18 disabled persons and 29 women. Top police and government officials attended the event.

Illegal sand mining crackdown efforts in Bihar have intensified under Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha. The illegal sand mining crackdown became a top priority after he promised strict punishment for everyone involved.

Sinha spoke at a press meeting in Patna. He said the state will reward people who report illegal mining with ₹10,000. He also warned police station in-charges that they will face action if they ignore complaints. The government has not changed its mining policy, but it plans to enforce existing rules with more force.

The Deputy CM explained how illegal sand was being sold near the Digha and Patliputra railway stations. Officers seized 28 tractors and filed an FIR. The state also imposed a fine of ₹3.2 million on the accused. CCTV cameras will monitor tractor movement in police station areas. Any officer who supports or protects illegal traders will face strict action.

Sinha added that officials seized 3,000 trucks of sand in Dorigunj. The auction process has already started. He assured people that they can take soil from their own land for personal use without fear. The state wants to stop illegal traders, not trouble the public.

Amid the sharp drop in temperature, the Patna School Timing Change order has been issued for all government and private schools. The Patna School Timing Change aims to keep children safe as the city faces a strong cold wave. The district education officer said the decision helps protect students from the severe morning chill.

Now, the first class in schools will not start before 8 am. The order was sent to all headmasters and private school operators so they follow the new timings from Tuesday. Cold winds blowing at 15–20 km/h across the state, including Patna, are making mornings and evenings even colder. Fog is expected in many areas for the next two to three days.

Westerly winds have increased the chill further. Although the temperature will not rise much for the next three to four days, the weather department has predicted dense fog during early mornings. On Sunday, Patna recorded a maximum temperature of 24.9°C and a minimum of 13°C. Fog is likely in several parts of the city.

Polluted Water Treatment in Patna will take a big step forward from next November. The city will stop sending dirty drain water into the Ganga without treatment. The new Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in Digha will connect to Mandiri and Bakarganj drains. This change will ensure that only treated water enters the Ganga. Patna will complete this work fast because Polluted Water Treatment is now a top priority.

The Digha STP, the state’s largest, has a capacity of 100 MLD. It already treats 25 MLD, and the number will reach 55 MLD by the end of December. The Kankarbagh STP has a capacity of 50 MLD and now treats 20 MLD.

Five STPs were opened earlier this year, including Digha and Kankarbagh. Three more STPs at Mokama, Fatuha, and Bakhtiyarpur are in trial runs and will start full operations by March.

With these plants running, Patna now treats 196 MLD sewage. By December, this will reach 226 MLD. Experts say Ganga and Punpun pollution will fall sharply.

By next year, Digha and Kankarbagh STPs will also produce 4.5 MW electricity, helping them run on their own power.

The RJD reviews defeat after its major loss in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. The party has begun a detailed performance check with its candidates in Patna. As the RJD reviews defeat, Tejashwi Yadav suddenly left Patna for Delhi, which created fresh political buzz. He avoided the media at the airport, and the reason for his visit is still unclear. Sources say it may be a personal trip.

The Grand Alliance managed to win only 35 of 243 seats, and the RJD won just 25 of the 143 seats it contested. This poor performance has pushed party leaders to examine what went wrong. Senior leaders, including Abdul Bari Siddiqui, Bhola Yadav, and Mangnailal Mandal, are meeting winning and losing candidates to collect reports.

The party is also preparing a list of leaders who allegedly supported opposition parties during the elections. Division-wise reviews will continue until December 4, followed by a meeting with district presidents and state officials. The final review will end on December 9. Leaders who fail to give convincing explanations may face action.
