Long queues of vehicles appeared at petrol pumps in districts like Purnia and Begusarai. Many drivers filled their vehicle tanks and also carried petrol and diesel in drums and containers to store for later use.

Some petrol pumps reported heavy crowds and arguments between customers and staff. In a few places, police arrived to control the situation as panic buying increased.

Officials said there is no shortage of petrol or diesel in India. They urged people not to believe rumours and confirmed that fuel supply remains normal across the country.
