Low visibility prevented his helicopter from landing at the Taherpur helipad.
The aircraft hovered briefly before returning to Kolkata airport.
Due to weather conditions, the Prime Minister addressed the public virtually.

During the address, he announced highway projects worth nearly Rs 3,200 crore.
These projects included four-laning key stretches of National Highway 34.
Officials said the upgrades will improve connectivity between Kolkata and Siliguri.

Earlier, the Prime Minister said West Bengal benefited from central welfare schemes.
He also criticised the Trinamool Congress over governance issues.
TMC leaders responded, saying the visit would not influence election outcomes.

Later in the day, PM Modi reached Guwahati in Assam.
He inaugurated the new terminal at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport.
The terminal, built at a cost of around Rs 4,000 crore, will boost regional connectivity.

The Prime Minister said the expanded airport will support tourism, trade, and jobs.
Political observers see the visit as significant before upcoming state elections.
