On the occasion of ‘Deeksha Divas’, Rao highlighted the 2009 November 29 hunger strike that transformed the Telangana movement. He said the protest created a new chapter in history and laid the foundation for the state.

Rao emphasized that KCR’s leadership inspired four crore people to fight tirelessly for Telangana. He added that the movement demanded courage, sacrifices, and dedication beyond holding official positions. Rao described KCR as the unwavering signature on Telangana’s enduring history.

He further stated that without KCR’s protest starting November 29, the December 9 announcement creating Telangana would not have occurred. The decade-long struggle, not the rulers’ generosity, achieved the statehood. Rao said the memories of KCR’s dedication continue to inspire Telangana’s spirit among people.
