Vinay Kumar, a native of Vizianagaram district, pursued his M. Tech in Civil Engineering at Rajiv University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT), Nuzvid. Tension erupted when Prof. Raju denied him entry into the examination hall. Enraged, the student reportedly pulled out a knife and attacked the faculty member.

Campus staff rushed to the scene and shifted the injured professor to a nearby hospital. Doctors confirmed that he sustained injuries but is under treatment. Police immediately booked a case against Vinay Kumar and began an investigation into the assault.

Officials said strict action would follow, stressing that violence inside academic institutions cannot be tolerated. The shocking incident has left students and faculty disturbed, raising questions about discipline and security on campus.

The Nuzvid IIIT administration assured cooperation with police authorities and promised to review security measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
