Farmers from Firozpur and several other districts of Punjab have announced a march toward the Shambhu border to protest against the electricity bill. Addressing the gathering, Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee leader Sarwan Singh Pandher alleged that the Punjab government is working to crush their movement instead of supporting them.

Pandher claimed the state government has joined hands with the central government and is refusing to back the demand to scrap the electricity bill. He said this clearly shows that both governments are aligned against farmers’ interests.

Calling for unity, Pandher appealed to all Punjabis to stand with the farmers in their fight for the cancellation of the electricity bill. He emphasized that only a united struggle can force the government to take action in favour of the farming community.
