Another farmer from the village, Saminder Singh, added that Arshdeep’s family had suffered similar damage during the 2023 floods, but this time, the young farmer could not endure the burden. Fortunately, he is now reported to be out of danger.

SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami said farmers will get 8 lakh litres of diesel to prepare fields for crops. Farmers with less than 10 acres will receive high-quality wheat seeds for the new sowing season. Each gurdwara in flood-hit areas will get ₹50,000, and children will be given free textbooks to replace what was lost.

The relief plan also includes 50 medical vans from Sri Guru Ramdas Medical College. These vans will serve in affected areas to treat post-flood health issues. SGPC will also continue langar and ration supplies. Dhami urged the Punjab Government to waive VAT on diesel so that farmers benefit more.
